Is it time to introduce more paid parking on Great Ocean Road?
The Allan government is pushing ahead with plans to introduce paid parking to some sections of the Great Ocean Road.
Consultation has began on the plan, which would see tourists slugged but locals exempt from paying.
Victorian Tourism Industry Council Chief Operating Officer Chris Porter says the famous stretch of road had to be protected, revealing the staggering numbers of people who flock to the main sights every year.

“The Great Ocean Road is one of our key tourist destinations,” he said on 3AW Drive.
“It gets over 5.4 million visitors a year, 2.8 million of those are domestic day visitors.”
