There are calls for money to be better spent on fixing roads in Victoria.

The issue came to light on 3AW Drive on Tuesday after Gerry told Tom Elliott about the shocking road conditions on Sunbury road and the infamous Bulla Bridge.

It led to a wider debate about the worst roads in the state.

Marion Terrill is the Program Director of Transport and Cities at the Grattan Institute, said cash wasn’t the issue.

“There is no shortage of money spent on roads in this state, that is for sure,” she said.

“One of the chronic problems across the country, really, is the relationship between investment in new roads and maintaining the ones we’ve already got, is very poor.”
