Israel launches missile strikes against Iran in retaliation

Israel has launched missile strikes against Israel today, almost a week after Iran targeted the state.

Chair of global Islamic politics at the Alfred Deakin institute for citizenship and globalisation at Deakin University, Professor Greg Barton, says an Israeli escalation was likely.

“We’re operating with very limited information, Iran is saying ‘there’s nothing to see here’ … it seems to be a symbolic reprisal, and the hope is that it’s done and dusted,” he told Jacqui Felgate.
