The planned construction to replace the Shane Warne Stand at the MCG won’t begin before 2030 or 2031 due to many major events in that time, which will impact the timing of the major overhaul.

Former Premier of Victoria and former Member of the MCC Committee Ted Baillieu joined 3AW Drive to speak about the overhaul that is needed at the MCG.

”It is weary and the MCC is very conscious of that,” Baillieu said on 3AW Drive.

“The problem we face is the MCG is one of the last remaining competitive advantages that Victoria has.”

“We have to bee the biggest, we have to be the best, we have to be cutting edge and we have to be ahead of the game for the next four years.”
