‘It is wrong’: The question Jacqui Felgate raised in the lead-up to Anzac Day
With Anzac Day falling on a Saturday this year, there’s been much conjecture around whether the Monday will be treated as a public holiday.
The Australian Capital Territory reversed the decision to originally not treat the Monday as a public holiday, after much outcry from unions, and aligns with New South Wales and Western Australia.
The remaining Australian states including Victoria will observe the public holiday just on the Saturday, but there’s one group who will be having the Monday off, the CFMEU.

“It is little wonder that every project they touch is over budget by billions and over time by years,” the 3AW Drive host said.
Liberal state member for Narracan, Wayne Farnham, was blunt when weighing in on the union taking the Monday off after Anzac Day.
“They’re taking the piss,” Farnham said on 3AW Drive.
Press PLAY to hear his strong stance
“Once you start worrying about the day off, then you lose focus on the importance of what Anzac Day is actually about.”
