It’s on: Lorne Pier to Pub gets green light

Authorities have given the Lorne Pier to Pub the green light after the run and swim events were placed in doubt in the wake of the Christmas Day blaze.

Race director Mark Williamson says the event will provide a much-needed boost to fire-affected communities along the Surf Coast, with around 5,000 competitors and up to 20,000 spectators set to make their way to town.

‘It’s fantastic news for us and for Lorne,’ he told Nick McCallum.
