A festival in the Grampians was eventually cancelled on Sunday as a result of extreme heat, but not before miscommunication left revelers wondering how they’d leave the venue amid severe temperatures.

The Pitch Arts and Music Festival went ahead on Saturday, but organisers pulled the pin a day later due to the heatwave which swept Victoria over the long weekend.

“I’ve been told it was an absolute nightmare,” Jacqui Felgate said on 3AW Drive.

One person died at the festival as a result of a suspected overdose, while two others also landed up in hospital.
