An Italian journalist has written about her love for Melbourne.

Mariantonietta Rasulo, who is travelling across Australia, wrote in The Age about how much she’s enjoyed experiencing ‘eclectic’ Fitzroy, ‘Italianissima’ Carlton, ‘exuberant’ St Kilda, and ‘romantic’ South Yarra.

She told Tom Elliott she is currently in Byron Bay, but will definitely be coming back.

‘I love the mix of cultures, food, and beliefs,’ she said.

‘All of this mix gave me a sense of freedom that I have not felt in any other city of the world.’

Ms Rasulo said she loves the ‘real Italian coffee’ in Carlton, and she has picked up an AFL team.
