‘It’s a joke’: The update on a horrifying attempted carjacking which has the victims feeling ‘let down’
There’s been an update on a terrifying attempted carjacking which occurred in Ashburton in September, which horrified a couple and their two-year-old son.
Tasha was the victim who spoke on 3AW Drive about the carjacking, with her two-year-old son in the back seat of the car, and she’s spoken out again after the disappointing update.

“I think the government cares more about protecting and looking after the wellbeing of the offenders, and not the victims,” Tasha told Jacqui Felgate.
And when the 3AW Drive host asked Tasha about Premier Jacinta Allan stating that Victoria has the toughest bail laws in the country, she didn’t hold back.
“It’s a joke … I don’t even want to listen to her speak anymore because it’s untrue!” she said about the Premier.
Former magistrate, Professor David Heilpern, was then questioned by Jacqui Felgate on doli incapax after the horror carjacking update.
“My reaction is that this is the law working as it always has, and as it should,” Professor Heilpern said on 3AW Drive.
