‘It’s a mystery’: Jacinta Allan’s Instagram profile catches Jacqui Felgate’s attention

Premier Jacinta Allan has seen a big boost in followers on her Instagram account in the last few days, and it’s caught the attention of Jacqui Felgate.

Last Friday, the Premier had her followers increase by 53,471 to be exact, and it’s left the 3AW Drive host questioning whether someone in her team purchased the followers, or whether she was subject to a bot attack.

“I’ve never seen this happen,” Felgate said.

“It’s a mystery, potentially a taxpayer-funded mystery.”

Technology expert, Leigh Stark, then explained what a bot attack is and shared his thoughts on whether the Premier’s account was targeted.

“It’s unlikely to be a bot attack,” Mr Stark said on 3AW Drive.

State opposition leader, Jess Wilson, then blasted the “laughable” accusation from the Premier, who accused the Liberal Party of being behind the sudden increase in followers.

“I can’t believe we’re even talking about this … it is actually laughable and an insult to Victorians,” Wilson said.
