New 9News Melbourne co-host Alicia Loxley says she can’t wait to reunite with Tom Steinfort to present weekday bulletins from 2024.

Loxley, who has recently read the news on weekends, will team up Steinfort to replace news icon Peter Hitchener, who has read weekday news on the network for 25 years.

“Tom (Steinfort) and I sat next to each other at (the old newsroom in) Bendigo Street when we started together,” Ms Loxley told Ross and Russ on 3AW Breakfast.

“It’s been nice this has all happened. Tom (Steinfort) is Melbourne through and through, he’s a massive a Richmond supporter.”
