Demand has increased 10 per cent in six months, with 76,000 Victorians a day now relying on Foodbank.

Foodbank Victoria chief executive Dave McNamara told 3AW Breakfast hosts Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft the number of people who can’t afford food on a regular basis is “distressing”.

“1500 schools around Victoria now the kids get breakfast everyday, before that didn’t happen. But yet still we need a warehouse this size to try and meet the demand across the state,” he said.
