It’s never been more lucrative to smuggle lobster into China, with business booming ahead of the Lunar New Year holiday.

China still has an unofficial ban on the importation of Australian seafood due to government tensions.

John Susman, seafood sustainability guru and Director of Fishtails, said that ban didn’t stop loads of the Australian-fished crustaceans making their way into the country.
