‘It’s quite devastating’: The violent trend occurring in Victoria

Knife crime has skyrocketed in the state, with hospitalisations more than doubling since 2019.

Emergency Physician at The Alfred Hospital, Doctor Danny Ben-Eli, claimed the trend is “quite devastating” and has seen hospitalisations from stabbings go from 300 in 2019, to 800 in 2022.

“It’s quite devastating to see some of these victims with significant injuries, life changing events and sometimes you can’t do much for them,” Doctor Ben-Eli told Ross and Russel.
