Jennifer Keyte has admitted she still hasn’t spoken with Stephen Quartermain, just days out from taking over his job as the face of Ten Eyewitness News.

After beginning at channel 10, with Quartermain, in 1982, Keyte has been doing weekend presenting for the past 15 years at channel 7.

She begins reading news at Ten on Monday.

She told Neil Mitchell she still hasn’t spoken with Quarters and still holds out hope that he will agree to present sport alongside her.

“It’s still possible,” Jen said.

“He’s taking some time, after today he’s taking three weeks off, I think he’s going overseas with the family.

“He has to make the right decision for him but I’d love him to stay.

“If we wants to stay I think we’d make a great team.”

Jen insisted she will sit down and talk with Quarters “when the time is right”.
