‘Its time has come’: Growing momentum for gambling ads to be banned

The federal government is expected to move quickly to implement a ban on gambling ads during sporting events on TV and radio.

A parliamentary committee has made 31 recommendations to deal with the issue, and the key measure would see betting ads gradually phased out over three years.

Committee Chair and Labor MP Peta Murphy says the government will make sure it’s done properly.
