IVF age limits to be considered in Victorian review

The Andrews Government is launching a wide-ranging review of Victoria’s fertility laws in a bid to weed out dodgy operators.

Among the key issues to be considered will be:

• IVF age limits
• The number of treatment cycles
• Success rates
• Costly add-on treatments.

Health Minister Jill Hennessy told Ross and John it’s time for a review.

“We want to make sure we don’t have a system that has rogues or cowboys taking financial, emotional and medical advantage of what is some of the strongest urges and desires and ambitions for women, and that is to have a little baby,” she said.
