Jack Ginnivan’s father says his advice to his son ahead of Saturday’s preliminary final was the same as every other game he’s ever played – enjoy and have fun.

Craig Ginnivan joined Neil Mitchell on Friday to speak about his son’s rapid rise to footy fame.

Craig, a local footy star in his own right, once kicked 129 goals in a season for Newstead.

Jack was quickly hunting that record down one season, cracking the 100-goal milestone in the under-12s!

“I put him in the backline so he wouldn’t beat my record,” Craig said with a laugh.
