Jack Watts admits he’s lucky to still be at Melbourne

Jack Watts doesn’t believe he’d still be at Melbourne had Paul Roos not taken the coaching job in 2014.
In what turned into a candid interview on 3AW Football, Watts said he’d “certainly” been put on the trade table by the Demons in the past.
“If it wasn’t for Roosy coming down I would have been gone, I think, definitely,” Watts confessed on Friday night.
“He was an incredible support on and off the field.”
Great to have Jack Watts with us in the box before #AFLDeesSwans.

Few footballers have experienced criticism quite like Watts did after he was taken with pick 1 of the 2008 national draft.
But he’s now in career-best form.
“I just never really got sucked into it all,” Watts said when asked about how he handled the constant criticism.
“It wasn’t ideal, clearly, but yeah, I’m pretty proud of myself for how I handled it.”
