Six teenagers have been released from police custody to be charged on summons after a high-speed car chase through Melbourne’s south-east, with police finding a machete in one of the two stolen vehicles.

3AW Drive host Jacqui Felgate weighed in on the worrying incident and is frustrated at the punishment for the teens, which she states is a “letter in the mail”.

“What crime do you need to do, to go before a court?,” Felgate said

It’s alleged a Mazda was stolen from a carpark in Wantirna on Tuesday night at 11:30pm, before police caught sight of the car on the Eastlink at 1am.

A high-speed chase ensued, with another allegedly stolen blue Toyota Echo involved, with the chase coming to an end in Langwarrin where the teens were arrested.
