Energy Minister Lily D’Ambrosio says over 134,000 Victorians are still without power a day on from Tuesday’s weather event.

Severe storms and bushfires hit parts of Victoria on Tuesday afternoon, knocking out power and communication services almost instantly.

“We’ve got about 134,952 people that are still off the power supply,” she told Jacqui Felgate.

South Gippsland Shire mayor Clare Williams told 3AW Drive that as of 4pm (AEDT) on Wednesday, much of Gippsland was still without power and phone services.

“There’s trees all over the road and homes are damaged,” she said.
