Jacqui Felgate’s plea to health officials after worrying nurse cutback
Jacqui Felgate is pleading with health officials to recognise the importance of our nurses after thousands of graduate positions were cut.
More than 2000 Victorian nursing students are set to miss out on a graduate program place next year, at a time when demand for nurses is skyrocketing.
And with the union set to strike on Tuesday, Jacqui Felgate can’t that the situation has become as dire as it has.

“Nurses are what we need in this stage…they’re underpaid and overworked,” she said on 3AW Drive.
A Victorian Government spokesperson said in a statement to 3AW that they were “working with health services to open up more graduate positions in our public hospitals”.
