Jamie Zimmermann speaks about his book The Promise with Neil Mitchell on 3AW

It messed with his life, marriage and well-being, but Jamie Zimmermann wouldn’t change a thing.

The former special forces soldier joined Neil Mitchell in studio to speak about a memoir called The Promise he has written.

The title refers to a promise he made to close friend Brett Wood, who was killed on their third tour of Afghanistan.

While he’s learned a lot of hard lessons along the way, Zimmermann said on 3AW Mornings he’d do it all again.

‘Absolutely,’ he said.

‘You can look at it many ways.

‘I’ve got a lot of great things that came out of it.’
