Jane Edmanson’s plant of the week
Chrysanthemums for Mother’s Day, they are growing so well at this time of the year and are full of flower.
It was way back in 1923 when a Sydney Lady, Mrs Janet Heyden gave small bunches of Chrysanthemums to the inhabitants of the State Home’s for Women.
It is a perennial plant coming in a range of colours and noted for flowering as the shorter days in autumn start.
You can propagate it from side shoots and as a potted plant it is a beauty at this time of the year.
