Jane Edmanson’s Timely Task

The early flower Camellia sasanqua are in full bloom right now. If you want to grow them as a screening hedge or a feature in a pot, they are perfect.

The colours range from pink, white and a deep pink, e.g. ‘Mine no nuki’ is a white flower as are the dainty small flowering pink and white ‘Sweet Jane’, absolutely full of flowers. When the petals fall, rake them back and put them back on to the top of the soil as camellias love decomposing leaves and plant material.
