Jane’s Plant of the Week: Day lilies

Day lilies (Hemerocallis) are a hardy plant for a colourful show in the summer autumn garden.

Once established they are very tolerant of dry times and enjoy the hot sunny days.

As their name suggests the flower only lasts for one day but there are usually many flowers to each plant so regular dead heading will keep them in full bloom.
