Jazz star Jose James catches up with Denis Walter

Jose James is one of the hottest young jazz stars on the scene and is in town for the Melbourne Jazz Festival. 

The son of a jazz musician, he counts Billie Holiday as his ‘musical mother’.

‘Every good thing I sing comes from her,’ he told Denis Walter. 

He’s also a big fan of Melbourne’s clothes and coffee scene.

James dropped in to 3AW to speak to Denis about his inspiration, and told him more about the show on this Saturday at Hamer Hall.
