Former Premier and Hawthorn president Jeff Kennett is calling on the AFL to scrap its illicit drugs policy, saying there’s no point testing players if no action is taken against those who test positive.

His comments come after it was revealed 11 Collingwood players tested positive to illicit substances during the off-season.

But the AFL is insisting on keeping players’ names confidential.

Mr Kennett, now chairman of Beyond Blue, told 3AW the AFL has a responsibility to act.
