Jeff Kennett weighs in as Brad Battin faces imminent leadership challenge
Victorian Liberal leader Brad Battin will face a leadership challenge on Tuesday morning.
Shadow Treasurer Jess Wilson is expected to have sufficient support to take the leadership, according to party sources.
Speaking on 3AW Drive, the former Victorian Premier Jeff Kennett weighed in, saying “I think Brad Battin is making great progress in terms of convincing the public that he is trustworthy to lead us into the next election and win.”

Head of Politics and International Relations at Monash University, Dr Zareh Ghazarian, has labelled the move as “a very big gamble.”

“This is a bit out of the blue, and it’s a big call,” Dr Ghazarian told Jacqui Felgate.
“Obviously, while we can’t forecast what will happen, I think we can see some pitfalls and potential opportunities for the Liberal Party if this is going to go ahead.”
