Former Victorian Liberal premier Jeff Kennett has shared some advice for the Liberal Party in the wake of last night’s “profound” win by Labor.

“The organisation ought to take a break and then in the new year reconsider and position itself to become more relevant,” he told 3AW’s Sunday Morning program.

“We’ve got to look at candidate selection, we’ve got to look at candidate training and I think we’ve got to have a bit more central control over that so we don’t end up being embarrassed.”
