Jeremy Howe excited about Darcy Moore switch — provided he ‘knows his place’

Collingwood high-flyer Jeremy Howe says Darcy Moore has made an impressive start to his switch to defence.
But not too, impressive…
Howe said that while Moore was in a “modified” training schedule this week, it was all systems go for the 22-year-old former forward’s move to centre-half-back in 2018.
“He’s training really well,” Howe told 3AW Sportsday.
“He’s been super down there so far, he’s just like a big sponge learning the ropes.
“He’s really embraced it, and I think it’s brought a bit of life into his training and game and I really look forward to what he’s going to produce.”
But what’s going to happen when a high ball sits atop an opposition forward’s head with both Moore and Howe, widely considered the best specky in the competition, in the vicinity?
“He knows his place, he knows when to pull out,” Howe quipped.
On Nathan Buckley:
“The club’s backing him in for another two years, and so they should’ve. He’s got a really good support base around him now, with a couple of new recruits in the coaching box … that have made a really big impact.
We’ll let everyone else judge the way we got about it by our performances.”
On Mason Cox:
“He and Reidy (Ben Reid) are just feeding off each other (in the revamped Collingwood forward line).”
On AFLX and JLT:
“We’ll have a solid look at it.”
