Joanne Ryan tells Tom Elliott why she’s opposed to Daniel Andrews’ new prison location at Werribee South

Labor politicians appear to be on a collision course over the controversial site for the new youth prison at Werribee South.

But the federal member for Lalor denies she’s trying to make life difficult for Daniel Andrews.

3AW Drive host Tom Elliott said it was ‘hideously embarrassing’ for the Premier to have another Labor politician opposing his plan.

But Joanne Ryan denied she was trying to make life difficult for Mr Andrews.

She said the prison was clearly needed.

‘It’s the actual site they’ve chosen that I dislike,’ she said on 3AW Drive.
