John Howard and Scott Morrison’s ‘big mistake’
Former Prime Minister John Howard says Scott Morrison made a “big mistake” in not publicly explaining why he’d appointed himself to five additional ministries after the COVID pandemic began.
Mr Morrison is facing calls to resign completely from parliament after it emerged he secretly appointed himself to the health, finance, industry, science, energy and resources, home affairs and treasury portfolios without the public’s knowledge, and in some cases, without alerting the existing minister, while PM.
Speaking with Neil Mitchell, Mr Howard said there was no justification for Mr Morrison to keep that secret.
“That was his big mistake,” Mr Howard said.
