It has been a horror run on Victoria’s major freeways the past two days.

Yesterday a 28-year-old Hoppers Crossing man died and his passenger was injured in a crash involving six cars and a truck on the Princes Freeway.

One of the car drivers was John Palu.

Speaking to Neil Mitchell, John recalled how quickly it all happened.

‘The car in front of me stopped, I suddenly stopped.

‘Then I just heard this massive crash and heard the truck ploughing through.’

With his two year old son and mum in the car, John was able to swerve to the left to avoid full impact of the collision.

‘I’m just really thankful that we were fortunate to come out.’
