John Setka defends CFMEU negotiations with council maintenance workers

Outgoing state secretary of the CFMEU, John Setka, has defended the union’s decision to enter wage negotiations with council garbage collectors and gardeners.

He says the workers contacted him first after they felt their union wasn’t representing them.

“They weren’t getting serviced by their union … as unionists, and representing workers, we also have an obligation,” he told Jacqui Felgate.
