Jordan Lewis talks Hawthorn captaincy
Hawthorn star Jordan Lewis admits he’d like to captain the club but says it ‘wouldn’t be a change’ if he took over from Luke Hodge.
The Hawks midfielder looks set to be Hodge’s successor as skipper of the three-time reigning premier.
But Lewis told Sports Today it wouldn’t be an earth-shattering move, if it happened.
‘It wouldn’t be a change,’ Lewis said on 3AW.
‘The thing that makes Hodgey’s job a lot easier is the people beneath him.
‘That’s certainly the way with Clarko, as well.
‘The thing that makes his job is the assistants around him.
‘We don’t only look at Hodgey as a leader, we look at the five guys that sit in the leadership group and also the next generation coming through.’
Lewis, who was unveiled as a new Audi ambassador on Wednesday, revealed he now had something in common with Hollywood stars Hugh Jackman and Chris Hemsworth.
‘I was a little embarrassed when they started reading those names out,’ he said with a laugh.
