Josh Bruce opens up on finals heartache
Injured Western Bulldogs forward Josh Bruce has opened up on the heartbreak of missing his side’s 2021 finals campaign.
“I was probably playing some of my best footy when I did get injured … it was a harrowing time to get injured, I played one game of finals in 150 games of my career and it was against the Saints and we lost, so that was my old club,” he told 3AW Football.
“I knew we were in for a good run for finals this year and to be going pretty well and kicked a few goals and to be an important part of a team who was working well, it was bloody hard, it was bloody hard to watch in particular, watching the finals was heart breaking stuff.”
Bruce who has been sidelined since suffering a rupture ACL in Round 21 of last year also provided the 3AW Saturday night football team an update on his rehabilitation and return to footy.
“The knee is coming along well, I finally turned the corner which is exciting,” he said.
“I did about 11 or 12 kms this morning.
“Looking at a return in 8 or 9 weeks.”
