Josh Frydenberg slams ‘farcical’ suggestions he’s a dual citizenship
Josh Frydenberg has categorically rejected suggestions he could hold Hungarian citizenship.
But the government minister says there’s no need for a full audit of Australia’s federal politicans following the dual citizenship scandal.
The Energy Minister says his mother – who was born in Budapest – and grandparents were “stateless” when they arrived in Australia after fleeing the Holocaust.
He told Neil Mitchell it’s completely absurd to suggest he is a citizen of Hungary.
“It’s got to a farcical stage,” Mr Frydenberg said on 3AW.
“I’m an Australian and an Australian only.”
