Josh Gibson is set to come under scrutiny over a heavy hit on Tom Ruggles.

The Hawks’ defender floored the Cat late in the first half of Monday’s clash between Hawthorn and Geelong.

3AW Football was divided over whether Gibson was in trouble.

‘I think it’d be pretty hard for him to go,’ Collingwood great Tony Shaw said.

But Matthew Lloyd wasn’t impressed.

‘I didn’t like it,’ he said.
