JOY 94.9 FM evacuated after bomb threat, fears threats are getting more serious
Melbourne’s LGBTI community radio station JOY 94.9 FM was evacuated overnight after it received a bomb threat via email.
CEO Tennille Moisel said it was just after 7pm when police were called and the studios were evacuated.
She told 3AW Drive’s Nick McCallum while they were no stranger to vitriol, the severity of the threats had increased.
‘What we are seeing at the moment, not just at JOY, but through the LGBTI community, is people feeling more comfortable that they are justified feeling a sense of hatred,’ she said.
