Julie Bishop wants more help from Victoria
Foreign Affairs Minister Julie Bishop has suggested Victoria has been slow to offer help to Australia’s influx of Syrian refugees.
Premier Daniel Andrews says he has written a letter to the federal government offering assistance, and has publicly said regional bases such as Puckapunyal could be used.
But Ms Bishop this morning told Neil Mitchell we are behind other states.
Neil Mitchell: What do you want from Victoria?
Julie Bishop: A discussion with Victoria as to what they can offer. NSW, South Australia and Western Australia have all been quite forthcoming.
