Junior footy team sent ‘please explain’ after winning by too much

Junior footy teams sent are being ‘please explain’ letters when their winning margins are too big.

Jeremy Bourke, General Manager of AFL South East, told Ross and John some junior clubs struggle to field a team.

‘We want to make sure that all of our clubs take a collegiate attitude to the enjoyment of footy,’ Mr Bourke said.

Some of the ‘minimisation strategies’ encouraged by the league include taking players off the ground and keeping the best players out of key positions.
