Junior Melbourne football league to sideline parents
One of Melbourne’s largest junior football leagues will sideline parents during breaks this year.
Parents will be barred from the field at quarter-time and three-quarter time in the Yarra Junior Football League in a bid to crackdown on bad behaviour and improve the experience for players.
CEO of the Yarra Junior Football League, Aaron Bailey, says “it does allow our coaches to coach and not have parents trying to coach their own children”.

“It’s not just based around behaviour. It’s a number of things — we think it actually improves the experience for kids on game day,” Mr Bailey told Ross and Russel.
More than 11,000 participants play across 32 teams in the Yarra Junior Football League.
