The Minister for Justice says Australia will not change its terror alert level despite two attacks in Europe.

12 people died when a truck drove into a Christmas market in Berlin, while a Russian diplomat was killed in Ankara in a separate incident.

Minister Michael Keenan told Nick McCallum, while it hasn’t been officially confirmed, ‘everything is pointing towards’ it being a terrorist attack.

But the incidents won’t provoke an upgrade of Australia’s terror alert level, which is currently at ‘probable’.

‘We’ve spent an enormous amount of time and money making sure our agencies are able to deal with this,’ Mr Keenan said.

The Minister said there are no security concerns about the asylum seekers accepted into Australia.
