Kangaroo shot with arrow at Bundoora

Vets say it’s touch and go whether a female kangaroo and its joey will survive after the mother was shot in the chest with an arrow and left for dead.

The incident happened at Bundoora on Sunday.

The kangaroo is in a critical condition at the Lort Smith Animal Hospital after undergoing emergency surgery.

The roo’s hairless joey is being bottle fed, but is unlikely to survive without its mother.
