Former Australian captain Kim Hughes says it’s a “kick in the guts” that David Warner’s baggy green cap has gone on missing on the eve of his final Test match.

Warner launched a last-ditch plea for the return of his treasured cap on Tuesday, just 24 hours before he prepares to play his final Test for Australia.

Hughes said it was an “absolute shocker” that the treasured cap had vanished before Australia’s clash against Pakistan, which begins on Wednesday morning.

“He doesn’t deserve this,” he told Heidi Murphy on 3AW Drive.

“He’s going to be emotional because it’s his last (Test match), it’s an absolute shocker and kick in the guts.”
