Knife held to throat of supermarket attendant during string of armed robberies in Melbourne’s south east
A young supermarket checkout attendant has had a weapon held to her throat in a terrifying armed robbery overnight.
The incident happened at the Woolworths in Dingley Village and was among a string of armed robberies across Melbourne’s south east last night
Police say two offenders wearing balaclavas, one armed with a machete and the other with a meat cleaver, ran into the store about 9.15pm demanding cash.
3AW News has spoken with the terrified attendant, she wasn’t injured but remains shaken this morning.
Investigators believe the same two men targeted two other supermarkets.
One in Cheltenham 15 minutes later and the other in Oakleigh at 9.50pm.
Cash was stolen in all three armed robberies, no arrests have been made.
