A knife has been pulled on a parent at a local football match in Melbourne’s north.

The man was allegedly threatened at the Epping Recreation Reserve yesterday, and it’s understood the men were known to each other.

It comes amid a rise in bad behaviour in the Northern Football Netball League juniors, and former AFL umpire Dean Margetts has told Jacqui Felgate he has a solution.

“To think that people are even carrying that sort of stuff to football games is staggering in itself,” Margetts said on 3AW Drive.

“If that’s seeping into junior footy, we’re in a really bad place aren’t we.”

No one was physically injured in the altercation.
