Koo Wee Rup footballer banned for life

Confirmed: A teenage footballer has been banned for life after attacking an umpire in country Victoria.

As first reported in the Rumour File, a Koo Wee Rup player was reported for elbowing and abusing an umpire in an under-18s match in the Ellinbank and District Football League.

3AW Breakfast has confirmed the teenager was this week suspended until the end of the 2017 season, which equates to a lifetime ban in all Victoria leagues.

Any player suspended for 16 matches or more in a career is banned for life.
