Lachie Strachan’s Steak with Mango Chilli Salsa
This might not sound like your normal steak night but give this one a try & I guarantee you will be pleasantly surprised. The tajin, mango, herbs & chilli have a surprising balance of flavours that really give you a nice fresh twist & a great way to pimp out your steak night!
Serves 4:
X4 Steaks of choice
Olive oil
Salt & Pepper
Tajin
Manga & Chilli Salsa:
2 Mangoes diced
4 Spring Onions Sliced
½ Cup coriander leaves
2 Tomatoes deseeded & diced
Juice of x1 lemon
2 Teaspoons chilli flakes
1 Tablespoon olive oil
3 Garlic cloves minced
Method:
- Preheat BBQ on high direct heat for at least 10 minutes with the lid closed. Take steaks out of fridge at least 30 minutes prior to cooking to get to room temperature.
- Prepare salsa ingredients in a bowl & set aside, lightly coat your steaks with olive oil, tajin, salt & pepper. Place onto the cooking grill and cook for around 3 minutes per side over direct high heat with the lid closed for medium rare, Based off steaks around 1 inch thick. Or cook to your liking.
- Remove from the BBQ & let rest for 3 minutes before serving and topping with the salsa.
